School meals are prepared each day at school by our school cook, Ms Stockdale. There is a choice of both main course and desert. We are extremely conscious of a healthy diet and healthy choices.
We have a healthy packed lunch policy and actively encourage parents to send healthy foods. Please take a look at our packed lunch policy for a list of foods to ensure you provide your child with a healthy lunch. Our Packed Lunch Policy can be found in our School Policies section.
We are involved in ‘The Fruit in School Scheme’. This provides all children with fruit each morning break. Children can of course bring their own fruit to consume if they wish. Please note that sweets, crisps, chocolate and chewing gum are not allowed for breaktimes.
Research shows the benefits of children having access to drinking water. It is believed drinking water throughout the day improves alertness, concentration levels and the ability to learn. The school provides each child with water throughout the day.
Snacks (Early Years Foundation Stage)
Nursery and Reception give children a snack each day. This usually consists of fruit but occasionally will be different foods, linked to topics and themes, to encourage a growing diet. Milk is ordered for the children to drink every morning. We are also part of the ‘Cool Milk’ scheme and offer milk to every child in school.
