My name is Lisa Geraty and I have worked at Oakley Cross Primary School since 2001, currently as a HLTA. During this time I have seen past pupils grow and have families of their own who now attend our school, this for me has been a privilege. During the last 20 years I have worked in all key stages, including early years. I have worked with lots of different teachers with different teaching styles and I feel that this has greatly improved my practice. My role includes being a First Aider responsible for the medical needs of the children in school as well as being a Mental Health First Aider. I am very passionate about the mental health and well being of all the children and staff.
I have two grown up children and 7 grandchildren who keep me very busy when I am not at school. I enjoy walking and spending time with my family.
Last year I received a letter from Durham County Council thanking me for my long service as a school governor. This is a role I have taken very seriously and has given me a great insight into the running of a school. If you have any issues that you would like me to bring to the attention to the governing body please feel free to ring the school office.
