What do we wear?
Because every child has the right to meet with other children and belong to a group (Article 15), the wearing of school uniform at Oakley cross is strongly encouraged.
Our school uniform consists of grey skirt, shorts or trousers teamed with maroon sweatshirt, incorporating school logo. Sweatshirts and cardigans can be ordered as required through the school office and children are requested to wear this with a white or pale blue polo shirt. In the summer blue gingham dresses may be worn.
Children should wear sensible, black footwear to school. Boots or wellingtons can be worn especially in bad weather but it would also be sensible for children to have slippers or shoes to change into on entering school as it is not healthy for our feet if they are worn for long periods of time.
Jewellery
Please refer to the Jewellery Policy which is located in our School Policies section.
P.E. Clothing
All children need a separate kit for PE. This consists of a white T-shirt and navy/black shorts. Children do need to change for health and safety reasons and therefore need a change of clothing and footwear to enable them to take part in P.E lessons. Indoor lessons need black plimsolls and appropriate footwear for outdoor lessons. P.E kit should be brought in on a Monday and taken home to wash on a Friday.
Children in KS2 take part in swimming lessons and as such will need an appropriate swimming kit.
Any parent who needs assistance purchasing the school uniform or a PE kit, please contact the school.
